Major General (Res.) Guy Tzur, was born in Givatayim in 1962. He has had a 36 year-long IDF career, in which he has served in a variety of command positions. He is a graduate of King's College's School of Security Studies; in addition, he has a B.Sc. in Mechanics and an MBA. He is married and has three children. Since 2016 Guy has been a member of the board at Israeli non-profit organization "Home for Every Child"; in 2018, he was appointed Chairman. Guy has served in a variety of planning and strategizing positions within the IDF. These include serving as the IDF's Southern Command's Chief of Staff, Chief Strategist at the IDF's Headquarters' Planning Department, Commander of the IDF's Ground Forces Training Center, Chief of the Planning Department of the IDF's Planning Center and Chief of the Ground Forces Command. He retired from active duty in 2016 following 36 years in the IDF.
